Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España 2026 en La Cala Golf: guía para espectadores y dónde alojarse

The Europa course at La Cala Resort, host of the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España

The Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España 2026 is played at La Cala Resort in Mijas from Thursday 26 to Sunday 29 November, with the Pro-Am on 24-25 November. It is the Ladies European Tour season finale, on the Campo Europa, with 75 players, a €700,000 prize fund and day tickets from €15. Our penthouse sits inside the resort.

This is the first time the Open de España has come to La Cala, and the tournament course is a short walk from our front door. Here is what we know so far and how to make a long weekend of it.

Open de España 2026 at La Cala: the key facts

The Ladies European Tour has confirmed La Cala Resort as the venue for the 2026 Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España presented by Oysho. It closes the LET season, so the field is 75 of the tour’s best players, and the Europa course (one of three at the resort, all designed by Cabell B. Robinson) is the stage. Previous editions were held at Real Guadalhorce near Málaga (2024 and 2025), Las Brisas, Villa Padierna and Los Naranjos.

Recent champions, if you want names to follow: Nastasia Nadaud of France won in 2025 aged 21, the youngest winner of the event; Carlota Ciganda of Spain won in 2021 and 2024; Aditi Ashok won in 2023.

Tickets: what they cost and who gets in free

Tickets went on sale in September 2026 through the official tournament site (openfemenino.com). At the time of writing the listed prices were:

Ticket Price (VAT included)
Thursday or Friday day ticket €15
Saturday or Sunday day ticket €25
Weekly pass (26-29 November) €50
Children under 12 Free
Federated golfers (with licence) 50% discount

Two things worth knowing. This is not a free-entry event, so buy in advance rather than expecting to walk up. And guests staying at the La Cala hotel itself get daily admission included; our apartment is inside the resort but is not the hotel, so our guests buy tickets like everyone else.

How the Race to Costa del Sol finale works

The Race to Costa del Sol is the LET’s season-long points ranking, the equivalent of the DP World Tour’s Race to Dubai. Players collect points at every event through the year, and this tournament is the last chance to add to the total. Whoever leads the ranking after the final putt on Sunday is crowned the LET’s number one for 2026, with a bonus pool paid to the top finishers.

So on Sunday afternoon there are two contests at once: the trophy, and the season title, which can come down to a handful of players needing a specific finish. Singapore’s Shannon Tan took the 2025 title; the LET website keeps a live 2026 ranking.

Getting to La Cala Resort and what to bring

La Cala Resort is in the hills above La Cala de Mijas, about 40 km and 30 minutes from Málaga Airport. Driving, take the A-7 (not the AP-7 toll road), leave at the La Cala de Mijas exit, head inland at the roundabout under the motorway and follow the signs for La Cala Resort for about 5 km. There is no train station; the nearest is Fuengirola, from where a taxi takes around 20 minutes.

Parking, shuttle and spectator entrance arrangements had not been published when we wrote this. Expect a signposted spectator car park, allow extra time, and check the official site the week before. If you are staying with us, you will not need the car at all.

Late November on the Costa del Sol is mild rather than warm. Typical daytime highs are around 18°C, with nights near 12°C, and November is statistically the wettest month of the year here, so plan for the occasional shower. Our advice for a day on the course:

  • Layers: a light jumper or fleece for the morning, short sleeves by lunchtime on a sunny day
  • A packable rain jacket and shoes with grip; the Europa course has plenty of slopes and the grass gets dewy
  • Sunglasses and sun cream; the sun is low and surprisingly strong
  • Cash or card for food outlets, and a small folding seat if you plan to camp at a green
  • Check the official site for the bag policy before you pack a big rucksack

Playing La Cala’s courses during tournament week

The obvious appeal of this week is that you can play in the morning and watch in the afternoon. The resort has said as much itself. The Europa course will be closed to visitors around the tournament, but Campo América and Campo Asia are separate layouts and the resort has been promoting stay-and-play during the event. Green fee availability and any restrictions on the other two courses are set by the resort, so book tee times early and check course closures with La Cala Resort directly before you travel.

If you have not played here before, our guide to the three La Cala courses explains the differences: América is the friendlier one, Asia the tighter test, and Europa the strategic layout the professionals will face.

One honest note: La Cala Resort is an independent resort, not part of Harmony de Mijas. We are inside its grounds, with the clubhouse under two kilometres away, and our guests use its facilities as visitors.

Staying nearby

For a golf group, our Apartment Harmony in La Cala Golf is about as close as it gets: a penthouse inside La Cala Resort that sleeps six, with room to spread out after a long day following the leaders. If you would rather sleep by the sea and drive up for the golf, our beach apartment Oasys de Ipanema in La Cala de Mijas sleeps four and is around 10 minutes from the resort, with the village restaurants on your doorstep for the evening. Both can be booked direct with us, and when you book direct you save 10%.
